I have had a life-long love affair with stones, with some of my earliest childhood memories about rocks and minerals. I graduated from the university of Florida, in 1978, with a bachelor of science in geology. I received a gemology diploma from the gemological institute of America, in 1983. After working in what I felt were stuffy stores, I opened Decatur city jewelers, in 1994. I wanted my customers to feel relaxed in what is usually an intimidating atmosphere. I am open and up front about what I can and cannot do, but I would never sell you a piece of jewelry that I wouldn’t give to my wife. I make classic jewelry, which can become generational. With your help, we can create or recreate heirlooms for you and your loved ones.
